Scanning Images with Photoshop on a PC

  1. Place document to be scanned face-down on the scanner and close the lid, if possible.
     
  2. Open Adobe Photoshop using the desktop icon.

  3. Go to File > Import and select the model number for the scanner you are using.
     
  4. The following configuration window will appear. Unless you wish to change the default settings, click the Preview button at the bottom. Alternatively, you can select Full Auto Mode from the drop down menu at the top of the window to have EPSON Scan automatically preview and scan your document. If you choose this option, you can skip to step 7.

  5. The scanner will work for a minute then open up the preview window. Drag a rectangle around the area you wish to scan, or click the "Auotmatically locates the image" icon on the left of the preview window (this is the icon with the green square and two arrows). You can drag the edges of the selection in or out if necessary.

  6. Leaving the preview window open, return to the configuration window and click the Scan button.
     
  7. After scanning, the document will open up in Photoshop and can be modified or saved. To save as any format other than PSD, go to File > Save As. Choose where you want to save the file, a file name, and a file type (format), then click Save.
