Scanning Multiple Pages with the High Speed Scanner
Back to main scanning page
There is one high speed scanner in the Knowledge Commons. It is able to pull one page at a time from a feeder, allowing you to scan multiple pages very quickly.
- Place the pages to be scanned face-up in the feeder on top of the scanner.
- Open HP Smart Document Scan Software using the desktop icon.

- Select the Scan Profile that is closest to the type of document you want to create. You can make changes to the profile as needed by clicking the "Edit" button. Alternatively, you can click the "New" button to create a profile from scratch. If you don't need to make changes to the profile, you can go ahead and click the "Scan" button and skip to step 6.

- When editing or creating a profile, you may want to make some changes to the "Scan" tab. The first setting is Paper Source. Simplex ADF will scan a single side of the pages in the feeder. Duplex ADF will scan both sides of the pages in the feeder. Flatbed will allow you to scan a single page that is placed directly on the scanner glass. You can also change the image resolution or color mode at the bottom of this tab.

- On the Destination tab, you can choose what sort of file you would like to save the scanned pages as. The default setting for the PDF profiles is "PDF Image only," which will work for most documents. You don't need to worry about the destination folder at this time. When you are done making changes, click OK to return to the profiles screen, then click the "Scan" button.

- The scanner will now scan all the pages in the feeder and display them to you as seen below. You can use the buttons at the bottom of this window to rotate or rearrange individual pages. You can add more pages by clicking "Scan More Pages" and click "Done Scanning" when you are ready to save the pages to a file.

- The "Done Scanning" button will bring up a Save As window where you can choose where you want to save your file and what you want the file name to be. Click "Save" to finish. You should then be able to open your file from the location you saved it to.
