iTunes U Information

U of U iTunes U

iTunes U is a free, hosted service for colleges and universities that provides easy, round-the-clock access to their academic content.

The University of Utah's iTunes U service is currently under ongoing development. Once it becomes operational, students will be able to download materials from any location then listen to and view that content on their Mac, PC, or media device (iPod, Zune, any MP3 player). Faculty will be able to easily post and change content on their own. Students will be able to upload their own content to share with professors or with the class.

Student Computing Labs Podcasting Basics

Converting traditional academic materials into digital content ready for wide distribution is the key to podcasting.

The Student Computing Labs and TACC is currently developing instructional materials on how to create and prepare podcasts for distribution. These materials we be made available at a future date to faculty, students and staff from the SCL Podcasting Basics page.

Multimedia Center & Marriott Library informational podcasts and RSS feeds are available to students, faculty, and staff for download from the MMC Podcast page.

Produced by the Multimedia Center, these podcasts, enhanced podcasts, and RSS feeds feature monthly MMC updates discussing what's new in the center, tips and tricks to use with computers and various software applications, & information for first-time visitors to either the Marriott Library or Multimedia Center.

Library iPod Project

Marriott Library iPod Project Info

iPods are available for checkout to students and staff through a federal grant made possible by The Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).

This new iPod service takes advantage of the device's mobility while maximizing its multimedia capabilities for an educational environment. At the core of the project are ten specially configured Apple Video iPods that can be checked out by students, staff, and faculity to view, listen, or read pre-loaded material anytime and anywhere.
