The Multimedia Center has imposed strict guidelines regulating the circulation of the Marriott Library iPods. They are different from those governing the circulation of other Library materials. Please read and understand the guidelines before checking out an iPod. If you have any questions, you may ask at the Marriott Library Multimedia Center service counter.
- All iPods are checked out with an “InvisiShield” sleeve and a lanyard.
- iPod Docks are not available for checkout at this time.
- Checkout is restricted to University of Utah staff, students, and faculty.
- iPods can be checked out for 2 days with one renewal (total of 4 days).
- Renewals must be made in
person with the iPod (along with the "InvisiShield" sleeve and the lanyard) at the Marriott Library Multimedia
Center.
- iPods (along with the "InvisiShield" sleeve and the lanyard) must be returned to the Marriott Library Multimedia Center and not to the circulation desks or book drops.
- Patrons who do not return an
iPod by the due date are subject to severe fines.
- Patrons who lose or irreparably damage an iPod will be charged a replacement fee (equal to the cost of a new iPod) and a processing fee.
- iPod earbuds are not available. Standard headsets may be checked out separately for 2 days with one renewal.
- The “InvisiShield” sleeve protects the iPod from scratches but does not make the iPod waterproof or water resistant.
- In case of emergency, all iPods have Multimedia Center contact information on the backside.
- iPods are not intended for use as portable
storage devices. Any material copied to the iPod will
be immediately erased after it has been returned.
