Burning CDs or DVDs on a PC

Note: Our PCs don't currently support burning video DVDs. You'll need to use Toast Titanium on a Macintosh computer if you wish to burn a video DVD.

Burning a CD or DVD using Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator
 

  1. Put your burnable CD or DVD into the disc drive.
     
  2. Open Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator using the desktop icon or by going to Start > Program Files > Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator.

  3. Click on Disc Creator Classic.

  4. The Data tab should be selected by default. This will allow you to burn files to a burnable CD or DVD. If you wish to create an audio CD, you will need to select the Music tab and click Music CD.

  5. Enter a title for your CD after "Disc Name" if desired.
     
  6. Drag the files you wish to burn to the lower half of the Roxio window. You can drag files directly from the desktop or My Computer, or you can use to the top half of the Roxio window to locate your file(s).
     
  7. Click the burn button at the bottom of the Roxio window to burn your disc.

  8. Change Number of Copies if desired, then click OK.

  9. There may be a short pause before the disc begins burning. When it's done, you will see a message saying your disc is complete. You can now close Roxio.

Burning a data CD using Windows XP built-in support
 

Note: This method doesn't work for burning DVDs or audio CDs. You'll need to use Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator to burn these discs.

  1. Insert your burnable CD into the disc drive.
     
  2. Drag files you wish to burn to the disc drive (D:), or right click the files you wish to burn and select Send To > (D:).

  3. If you wish to see what files are ready to be burned on the CD, you can open the disc drive to view them.

     
  4. When you have dragged all your files to the disc drive, right click the drive in My Computer and select "Write these Files to CD.

  5. Give your disc a title and click Next to burn your disc.
     
  6. When the disc is finished burning, you can select Finish to exit.
