MacGhostView is a general purpose Postscript previewer for the Macintosh. It is quite similar to the ghostview program found on Unix machines and is based on ghostscript 6.0. If a Postscript document conforms to Adobe's Document Structuring Conventions, the pages of the document can be displayed in any order. The program includes installation and registration instructions.

What's new in this version:

• MacGhostView and macps2pdf have full support for drag and drop.
• MacGhostView has a magnifying glass for instant magnification of a displayed file.
• The interface for setting page size, resolution, and color depth has been revised.

MacSFTP is a Macintosh application used to transfer files over TCP/IP using the Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) subset of the Secure Shell Protocols (SSH). SFTP is the replacement for the old and insecure File Transfer Protocol (FTP), with the addition of strong Encryption/Authentication.

Note that SFTP is NOT FTP over a secure connection. Even though, from a user perspective, they behave the same, these two protocols are completely different, and you cannot connect to a regular FTP server using MacSFTP. The host you want to reach must be running an SSH server with a properly configured sftp-server, and can safely shut down the insecure FTP access.

Marratech is a text/whiteboard/audio/video conferencing tool. It allows small groups of students anywhere on campus or home to meet in a virtual room and either text chat, audio chat, or video chat (if the computer is equipped with a camera). Currently students must use a public virtual room. There are 9 and usually there are several empty located at www.emeetingportal.com. All iMacs have microphones. Some Mac classrooms in the MMC have cameras on the instructor station.

Marratech is free and cross-platform (Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows), so students can download it for home.
