A Note on Text Scanning

OCR scanning (Optical Character Recognition) is not perfect - many times when you scan a document in, it will not read all the characters correctly. For this reason, you need to make sure that your document is legible. Even photocopied documents sometimes fail to be read correctly - the best results are achieved when scanning a laser-printed document. Also, if there are a lot of hand-written notes on the page the scanner will not be able to read these, and they will make the result very jumbled. After you scan in your document, you'll need to read carefully through it to make sure there are no major spelling or grammar errors.

Before you Scan

Check to make sure that the scanner has power. The power indicator light/power button is located on the front of the scanner and should be green. If it is not, press the indicator light/power button. You may also need to check to see if the power cord has been disconnected. If you have already launched VueScan, please quit out of the application before powering on the scanner.

NOTE: If you are unable power on the scanner, please notify a consultant at the service counter.

To launch Readiris Pro 11, open the "Apple" Menu in the upper-left corner of the desktop. Select the "Scanner" folder, then select Readiris Pro 11.
