[Intro] [Installing] [Configuring] [Printing] Installing the Client [2004.02.12] [ Installing the Client | Configuring the Client | Finishing Up ] Installing the Client (back to top) To download the Citrix ICA Client for Mac OS X, please click here. This 5.0 MB file entitled "MACICA_osx.smi" is a self-expanding Mac OS X file that will mount a "Citrix ICA Client" disk image containing the ICA Client folder and all related documentation.
Click and hold on the "Citrix ICA Client" folder and drag it to your "Applications" folder in your "Home" directory. You've now installed the ICA Client onto your computer.
Configuring the Client (back to top)
To configure the ICA Client, open the folder and find the "Citrix ICA Client Editor". Double click on the icon to launch the Client Editor application. From the main window that opens up, select the "Default Settings..." button located in the bottom left corner as shown below. The "Default Settings" window should automatically open onto the "Making a Connection" settings window. If it does not, select the "Making a Connection" tab. Next, select the "Server Location" tab. Under "Network Protocol" change "TCP/IP+HTTP" to "TCP/IP" by clicking on the "up/down" arrows on the right side of the button. You do not need to change any other setting in the "Making a Connection" window.
The Citrix ICA client will sometimes ask you if it can save to your "Drive C:" (actually your home directory on your Mac). This is because certain databases will occasionally write temporary files on your hard drive.
To disable this message, select the "Drives and Devices" tab, then select the "Drive Mapping" tab. At the end of the line for "Drive C:" you should see a "?" next to the eyeglass and pencil icons. Click on both until the "?" disappears. You do not need to change any other setting in the "Drives and Devices" window.
Finishing Up (back to top) To close the "Default Settings" window, click on the "Save" button in the lower right corner as shown below on the the left.
To exit the Client Editor, click on the "Quit" button as shown above on the right. You have now configured the Mac OS X Citrix ICA Client for use with the Marriott Library Articles Database and should be able to access any Citrix database listed within. |
