The University of Utah Marriott Library Articles Database lists several different databases that are are stored on Windows based servers and, by themselves, are accessible only by Windows users. There is platform independent software, however, that allows non-Windows users to access these databases. The one used by the Marriott Library that allows Mac users to access these databases is Citrix's ICA (Independent Computing Architecture) Client.

Accessing a Citrix database using a Mac is usually not an problem in a Student Computing Labs supported computer lab. If you are attempting to access them using a Mac in a different location, however, you will need to download, install, and configure the Citrix ICA Client. In addition, you will need to configure your Internet browser so that it will automatically work with the client everytime you access a Citrix database. You may also run into printing issues which can be resolved by printing through Mac OS X as versus the Client itself.

NOTE: If after reviewing this document you are unable to access a specific database, it is possible that there is an issue with either the Marriott Library Articles Database or an issue with the off-site server where the individual databases are stored. In this event, please contact the Marriott Library to let them know of your difficulties.
