Issues on Non-Region 1 DVDs [2008.05.13]
Back to Mac Help - How
to Play Non-Region 1 DVDs With VLC
|
When VLC experiences an issue during playback,
it will display what has happened in an "Error" window like the one shown
below.

If the DVD continues to play, select the "Dismiss"
button to close the "Error Window". The error is probably not critical
but you should:
- Stop DVD playback & quit VLC
- Read the second and third pages of this
document again and make sure you have not missed anything.
- Relaunch VLC and try to play the DVD again.
- If the
error appears once more but the DVD continues to play without issues,
go ahead and watch the DVD.
- You should quit & relaunch VLC before
watching a different DVD.
If the DVD stops playing,
if the audio quits or becomes unintelligible, or if VLC crashes,
you have encountered a serious problem. Do not
try to play the DVD again. Please do the following:
- Quit VLC if it is still operating and eject your DVD.
- Log out and log back in again.
- Read the second and third pages of this document again
and make sure you have not missed anything.
- Relaunch VLC and try to play the DVD again.
- If you are still unable to play the DVD please seek assistance
at the service counter. It is possible that your non-region1 DVD cannot
be played in any mac and must be played in the Multimedia Center's special,
region-free DVD player.
