If you are viewing a DVD from a foreign country or one for the Knowledge Commons collection labled "PLAY ON FOREIGN STANDARD MACHINE ONLY", you can view the DVD on any Apple computer in Student Computing Lab.

After inserting a foreign DVD, a window should pop up as shown below. Select "Foreign DVD" to play in VLC media player.

If VLC does not play the foreign DVD properly, please select from the topics listed below:

• Set Mac to "Ignore" any inserted DVD in the System Preferences.
• Insert DVD & Launch VLC.
• Select "Open Disk" from under the "File Menu". If this does now work, use "Open VIDEO_TS folder" option.
• Use the "Controls" menu to operate the DVD.
• If you run into any issues or are unable to get VLC to successfully play your DVD, please seek assistance at the service counter.
