Toast Titanium Burning Basics [2008.05.13]

These are basic instructions on how to burn a DVD/CD by using Toast 8 Titanium. If you require more information or have additional questions, please examine the "Toast Titanium Help" online documentation.

Before Burning

Check to make sure that you insert the a blank recordable DVD/CD into the DVD/CD drive. If not, press on the "eject" key located at the top right of the keyboard or click on "eject" under "Recorder" at the top menu bar.

To launch Toast Titanium, open the "Apple" Menu in the upper-left corner of the desktop. Select the "Utilities" folder, then select Toast Titanium.



Configuring Toast Titanium

After Toast Titanium has launched, you will see the main Toast Titanium windows on the screen. On the right will be a pane that displays what is on the burn list. On the left will be the settings and options. The disc type that Toast Titanium is capable of are Data, Audio, Video and Copy

NOTE: If you get an error when attempting to launch Toast Titanium, please notify a consultant at the service counter.


First, make sure that you have the correct setting for CD/DVD by checking on the box above the red button at the left bottom of the main Toast Titanium windows as shown on the right side. You could also insert a CD -R, CD -RW, DVD +RW, DVD -RW,DVD +R, DVD -R, or DVD +R double layer into the drive and make sure that the machine you are using is capabibilty by looking at the notes on the right border of the monitor.


After selecting the disc type, to add files and documents into the burn list, you can by either drag the selected file into the right pane or click on the "Add" button" at the bottom of the main Toast Titanium windows as shown on the left side and a "choose object" windows should pop up as shown below.


After finish filling up the burn list, the total space needed is display on the left pane under "Options" as shown on the left. It will also inform you if this burn list fits into the recordable media.

  • To burn a data disc, make sure that you click on the "Data" icon on the left pane. Select "Mac & PC" so that the disc is compatible on both Macs and PCs.

  • To burn a audio/video disc, make sure that you click on the "Audio"/"video icon on the left pane and select an appropriate type of audio disc you want.



Burning a Disc

After finishing all the steps above, you are now ready to burn a disc. To start recording a disc, you can either click on the red button on the right bottom of the main Toast Titanium window as shown on the right or select "Record" under "Recorder" at the top menu bar as shown below. Either way will lead you to the recording window as as shown below. Select a Write Speed you want and also Recorder available.



Note:

  • For burning a Audio/Video disc, Toast Titanium will comsume all the remaining space even if you intend to burn a song or a video clip onto a blank disc.

  • For burning a data disc ,in order to avoid comsuming all the remaining space, click on the "Advanced" tab in the "recording" window at the very last step. Select "Write Session" for Data CD under "Write Mode" as shown below.
