CIRCULATION POLICY
What Circulates to Who for How Long
- Faculty and Teaching Assistants may
check out all multimedia materials, except vinyl records, for 7
days to preview and use
in class. Materials may be renewed in person for a 5 day period.

Undergraduate, Graduate students who are not
TAs, and University Staff must use MMC materials one item at a
time in the Center and may not take them out of the Library.
- All patrons may check out books, audiocassettes and materials from the Browsing Collection for 14 days. Materials may be renewed in person for a 14 day period
-
All patrons may check out stand-alone CD-ROMs for 60 days. Materials may be renewed in person for a 60 day period.
- All patrons may check out accompanying materials, like CD-ROMs
and diskettes for the same time the book or other primary material
circulates. Materials may be renewed in person for the same time period as the primary material.
-All patrons may check out accessories, computer accessories and equipment for 4 hours up to 2 days depending on the item. Materials may be renewed in person for the circulation time period. Fines will be enforced.
-The Telecourse/Correspondence Study collection materials belong to AOCE and circulate for 4 hours for in-house use without exception
- Because of demand for our materials, renewals must be done in person and may not be done online. MMC will renew items as stated above, then the item must be returned
to the Multimedia Center for 24 hours.
ALL MMC MATERIALS MUST BE RETURNED TO THE MMC COUNTER
Returning materials in the Bookdrop or through Circulation,
may cause damage and delays resulting in fines |
What About Fines?
-Fines are assessed a $1.00 a day up to $50 for
Faculty and Teaching Assistants, $1.00 an hour up to $50 for Undergraduate,
Graduate students who are not TAs and Universtiy Staff.
- If fines are accrued, a request to forgive fines can be made and the fine will be investigated.
- Fines will be enforced on lost items or repeat offences.
- Appeals for fines or other charges may be made in writing to the
Circulation Policy Committee. MMC abides by the Marriott Library
procedure regarding fines and fees.
Other Things That are Good to Know
- Undergraduates / Graduates that are not TAs / University
Staff / and any others that are not using materials to teach may
use ONE ITEM AT A TIME within the Multimedia Center.
- Faculty and Graduate Students that are TAs and
are using materials to teach classes may check out a maximum of
TEN items
at one time.
- Items with a "Hold Request" taped to the front, may
not circulate to anyone except the professor named, for the dates
specified
on
the note, except for use within the Multimedia Center.
- Items marked "Do Not Check Out" may not be circulated
without the permission of a member of the full time staff.
